As a part of our Wednesday Culture Club (WCC), a concert of the composing duo „Halbstar and Umbra“ will be held on the 14th of May at 18h on the 4th floor in the gala “red” auditorium. We invite all our in and outpatients, as well as employees of the Institute to come and enjoy the performance.
Composing duo Halbstar and Umbra was formed in Belgrade in 2002. by Marija Balubdžić-Umbra and Željko Mikivić-Halbstar. They compose in many different genres, including cantautor, electronic, cabare, folk, theatre, always trying to experiment. They use acustic and electronic instruments, rhythm machines, VSTs, plug-ins and voices. While on stage they use electronic and electro-acustic sounds in combination with the ukulele and childrens drums, using the voice and body as the centerpiece of their perfomance.
Halbstar and Umbra performed music and showed video art at the „Rex“ culture center, Childrens culture center in Belgrade, Center for cultural decontamination, Youth center CK13, and culture centers Grad, Žica, Ventil, Design Box, etc…
They have dinamic performances such as concert, theatre, internet, and alot of their work is focused on applied music, production and cooperation with other musicians. They are authors for many theatre music pieces („Family stories“, Biljana Srbljanović, FDU, „Suicide victim“, Aleksandar Radivojević, Atelje 212) and music for the movie „Good morning“ Marine Radmilac.
