The General Assembly of the Serbian Psychiatric Association

The General Assembly of the Serbian Psychiatric Association (SPA) was held at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Belgrade on the 16th of December 2014. Prof. dr Dušica Lecic-Tosevski presented a thorough overview of the activities of the Association and the Young psychiatrists section for the previous period. A financial report was presented as well. Under the statute of the Association it was announced that the president of the finished mandate Prof. dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic is officially becoming a member of the Council of the SPA.

Prof. dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic thanked the members of the Board of the SPA. She presented that under the Statute the president elect Prof. dr Dusica Lecic-Tosevski becomes the next president of the SPA. She proposed Assist. dr Olivera Vukovic for the position of General secretary. Prof. dr Dusica Lecic-Tosevski proposed Prof. dr Goran Mihajilovic for President elect of the SPA, Doc. dr Maja Ivkovic for Secretary for education, Assist. dr Boris Golubovic for Secretary for publication and Assist. dr Branimir Radmanovic for Secretary for finance. All proposals were unanimously elected by public voting of the Assembly.

The Assembly also unanimously voted for the proposal of Prof. dr Dusica Lecic-Tosevski to start a Yearly award of the Association to a young psychiatrist (up to 40 years of age) that publishes in a paper with the highest IF for that year. The award would be 1000 Eur that would have to be spent on participating at a Congress. The new Executive Board has stressed that they will continue the rich collaboration of the Association with colleagues form the country and abroad, as well as with the World and European Psychiatry Associations.
